Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets make history, sweep the Los Angeles Lakers to advance to the NBA Finals

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are heading to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 113-111 in Game 4 last night.
Yes. I am writing about Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets sweeping the Lakers to punch their tickets to the NBA Finals. Here in Philadelphia, we need to embrace the pain and suffering and accept it. It will build character. Trust me.
Jokic took home Western Conference finals MVP, ending the Lakers season with triple-double performance. The Nuggets’ big man scored 30 points with 14 rebounds and 13 assists. It was his eighth triple-double of the playoffs, which is now the most in a singular playoff run in NBA history, passing the previous record of seven held by Wilt Chamberlain.
Jokic made a huge basket for the Nuggets down the stretch, sinking a three with no time left on the shot clock, followed by a clutch bucked to give the Nuggets a two-point lead with under a minute left on the clock.
That was the THIRD triple-double of the series for Jokic, who again, was named the Western Conference Finals MVP after the game, which he told ESPN’s Lisa Salters meant absolutely nothing to him.
“For me to be honest, nothing”
“This trophy is supposed to go to my teammates and coaches,” Jokic said. “They put me in this situation. I’m just first among the equals, and I’m just happy that we are collectively getting wins and getting to make something.”
Nikola Jokic wins 2023 WCF MVP (2:55 mark)
Jokic and the Nuggets will take on either the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics in the finals beginning on June 1.
The Heat currently have a 3-0 in the series and Jimmy Butler continues to embarrass everyone on the Boston Celtics.
No, I’m not commenting any further on the Sixers or how Nikola Jokic has been on a path of destruction after Embiid won the NBA MVP Award or how the MVP should or should not include the playoffs.
We’ve been through enough in Philadelphia.
Just watch and accept the pain. It builds character.
