Jalen Carter is so strong he broke a blocking sled at Eagles rookie minicamp

Once upon a time, the people said Eagles DT Jalen Carter was out of shape – that he didn’t have what it takes to play in the NFL. With OTAs underway in Philly, Carter is doing everything he can to put that narrative to rest.
Eagles insider Dave Spadaro joined The Philly Talk Podcast this week to talk all things Birds. When Spadaro shared his first impressions of Carter, the first thing he mentioned was that the Georgia product broke a blocking sled during the first weekend of rookie minicamp.

For those who’ve never played football, blocking sleds aren’t necessarily easy to move – let alone break. They’re meant to emulate an offensive/defensive lineman, so obviously they’re not supposed to be easily breakable. Except for Carter, I suppose.
It’s hard to get a gauge on how all the newcomers look thus far with the small amount of footage we’ve seen, but by most eye witness accounts, Jalen Carter looks the part.
Unlike last season, this year’s crop of rookies will play a huge role in the success of the team this season. By the looks of it, Jalen Carter will be the one leading the charge.
