WATCH: Phillies fans attempt to fight each other during weekend series against the Mets in South Philly

The Philadelphia Phillies took 2-of-3 from the New York Mets over the weekend and on Saturday, tension boiled over between two Phillies fans in the parking lot, with one of the worst “fight videos” the internet has ever seen.
Phillies Fans “Fight” in the Lots
Okay first of all. There was hundreds if not thousands of Mets fans down in South Philadelphia over the weekend. If you’re going to fight anyone at a sporting event (wouldn’t recommend) then at the very least, make sure it’s the opposing fan base.
On second thought, it’s probably good that neither of these kids actually fought anyone because, well, they didn’t even fight.
The entire video looks more like a high school play fight scene during a West Side Story musical.
Side Note: The best part of the video is commentary trying to talk sense into these two dummies “fighting” reminding them that they are friends and they love each other while a girl casually yells “stop it” in the background.
When I first watched the video, I thought for sure we were going to get a full fledged battle. One guy is touting one shoe. The common sense guy spends the first 25 seconds of the video trying to stop his dumb friends from fighting, and then once he throws his hands up in defeat, the guy wearing the Phillies hat aggressively tosses his hat away and squares up.
At that point, you thought we were heading for an all out boxing match.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) that never happened.
These two guys danced around and circles and punched air. I’m not even sure the guy in black even threw a punch. He kept deflecting and then urging his buddy to keep attacking him. ‘
1:25 minute video and we got absolutely nothing.
This happened on Saturday, the only game the Phillies dropped to the Mets after taking 2-of-3 over the weekend so maybe people were just drunk and pissed off. That’s certainly no way to handle your emotions though.
I’m always writing about fights and other “disgusting behavior” that unfolds at sporting events here at The Liberty Line but for this video, I’m stuck on what to even label this “fight” as because we really didn’t get much of anything. It was worse than the Phillies offense on Saturday, and I saw more Phillies players get hit on Sunday by Mets pitchers than we did in this fight.
Hopefully there was a lesson learned here. If you’re going to fight in the parking lots, then there’s going to be someone who films it. At that point, you have to put on a show or you’ll end up like these two idiots dancing around in circles, just to go viral on the internet for not doing much of anything.
Oh, or you can just not fight and act like grown adults in public. That’s probably the better option.
