The New York Mets embarrassing 2023 season continues with a brutal scoreboard error during last night’s 5-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers

The New York Mets embarrassing 2023 season just keeps getting better.
During the Mets’ 5-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night, reliever TJ McFarland got the call from the pen to attempt to keep New York within striking distance, but if you were attending the game, you would have had no clue he was the man tasked with the job.
The Mets scoreboard flashed “44 | RHP LASTNAME” instead of McFarlands name.
Obviously, it’s not that big of a deal but since it’s the New York Mets, it’s just another instance that provides laughs for opposing fanbases and really, it’s par for the course for the Mets this season.
New York is now 36-34 on the season and they haven’t won a single series in June, wrapping up a miserable 7-17 month with one more game against the Brewers (to avoid getting swept in a 4-game series) and the San Francisco Giants tomorrow at 7:10PM.
Yes, we’re talking about the New York Mets. A team that entered this season with a $364 million payroll, the most expensive in all of Major League Baseball.
That’s honestly pathetic and I love every little thing about it.
