Report: Damian Lillard’s agent is calling NBA teams warning them to not trade for him

Damian Lillard is trying to force his way out of Portland with hopes of joining the Miami Heat and now his agent is warning other teams who might be interested that his client is an ‘unhappy player’.
Damian Lillard’s Agent Warns Other Teams
We are literally not even a week into the Dame trade discussion and I’m already beyond sick of it.
This guy goes back and forth on whether or not he wants to leave Portland and now, he has his agent out there telling teams that they might as well not trade for him unless you’re the Miami Heat because if he lands anywhere besides South Beach that he’ll be unhappy.
Any Team Not Named the Miami Heat trading for Damian Lillard is trading for an unhappy player.
Cool.
As Woj noted, I am very well aware that this type of strategy from Goodwin is somewhat common. Lillard doesn’t have a no trade claus in his deal with Portland and if the Trail Blazers were smart, they would take the biggest offer on the table to get the most in return for sending Dame packing.
So yeah, that’s definitely one way to handle a trade for one of your clients. Try to steer every other option away by saying your client is a big baby and won’t be happy anywhere besides Miami.
We’ll see how that works out for Dame in the long run. My guess, it won’t work out at all and Lillard will be in Portland next season and even more unhappy than he is now.
Miami doesn’t appear to have the assets that Portland wants in return for Dame and I don’t see how any other NBA team would willingly join a three-team trade just to accommodate Miami and Dame’s demands.
One of the only teams that should have enough assets to land Dame would be the Philadelphia 76ers, however Daryl Morey is a moron and has the organization telling Portland and the NBA that Tyrese Maxey is untouchable and they have no intentions on trading Tobias Harris, while James Harden who was “expected” to be traded is now likely returning to the Sixers next season.
