Sixers Buzz: GM Daryl Morey ‘has something up his sleeve’ according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst

What is Sixers GM Daryl Morey cooking? It’s the question on every Philadelphians’ mind at the moment. Because frankly, he hasn’t done anything substantial in NBA free agency, but there have been daily reports revolving around the Sixers and their potential plans.
ESPN’s NBA insider Brian Windhorst has been at the forefront of most of this reporting. From the James Harden bullshit, to the team’s unwillingness to trade Tyrese Maxey no matter what, Windy’s been all over it.
In classic Windy fashion, he’s also been leaving little clues for Sixers fans to speculate on since free agency began. Whether they’re intentional or not, it seems pretty obvious that Windhorst knows something the general public does not.
He essentially admitted to that during an appearance on ESPN’s morning program “Get Up” Thursday.
Per Windhorst, “Daryl Morey has something up his sleeve. He is a very competent, very strategic executive. Don’t make an assumption that he’s ignoring Joel Embiid. Don’t make any assumptions with him. I wish I could tell you exactly what he’s planning. I know enough to know he’s got something going on and that he doesn’t show anybody his hand.”

God dammit, Windy. Just tell us what he’s cooking! Our mental health cannot take anymore speculation! We demand answers!
Obviously, Windhorst could be alluding to a number of different things. Perhaps it has to do with Harden, maybe there’s a Damian Lillard trade in the works (doubtful), or it could be something none of us have even thought of yet.
We’re now almost a week into free agency and there’s radio silence in Philly. Sure, signing Pat Beverly and Mo Bamba are worth mentioning, but the whole Harden ordeal, along with Tobias Harris’ potential trade, are really the only things we’re concerned with.
Hopefully, we get some clarity on all of it sooner rather than later. My mush brain can’t take much more of this.
