Under Armour releases limited Joel Embiid MVP t-shirts, raises questions on why they choose to sign endorsement deals with athletes they never promote

Right on time, baby. Under Armour, the official shoe and merchandise sponsor of Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid, has dropped brand-spanking new MVP merchandise.
The merchandise is in honor of Joel Embiid’s winning the KIA NBA MVP Award for the 2022-2023 season. Remember when that happened? The Sixers were still alive in the playoffs and seemed well on their way to beating the Boston Celtics in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Have you blocked the result of that out of your mind and decided to hate the Sixers moving forward?
I understand that as well. No need to worry, this post is just acknowledging how horrible of a sponsor that Under Armour is to Joel Embiid and if you still need proof, look no further than the “limited edition” t-shirt drop on their official website.

If you want to find the t-shirts listed on the UA website, good luck. I have been scrolling under the “Men’s Graphic Tees” section for a solid few minutes and have seen every t-shirt imaginable outside of Embiid’s MVP shirts.
The only way that I was able to even pull them up was by hitting google with a quick “Joel Embiid Under Armour T-Shirts” and finding a direct link.
I mean hell, even when you go to the Shoes category, Embiid who again is the reigning NBA MVP, is no where to be found. I do see “Curry Brand” getting a prominent feature though?
Missing: Joel Embiid can’t be found anywhere on the Under Armour Website

Joel Embiid signed a five-year footwear and apparel endorsement deal with Under Armour in 2018. He got his first signature shoe in 2020.
I honestly don’t understand why Under Armour would even offer such a deal to any athlete when they do the bare minimum in actually promoting them.
Did you know Bryce Harper was an Under Armour athlete?
In 2016, he signed a 10-year extension with Under Armour which was the biggest endorsement deal for any Major League Baseball player in the history of the game.
Note: Up until Harper’s extension, the largest MLB endorsement deal in Major League Baseball was in 2005, when Nike inked Alex Rodriguez for a 10-year $1 million contract.
Where’s Bryce Harper on the Under Armour website?
Good luck finding anything outside of a pair of baseball shoes, batting gloves, and two poorly designed t-shirts, one of which is a cartoon of Bryce Harper and only available in youth sizes.
Bryce Harper Off Road Short Sleeve T-Shirt (lol)

Also worth noting now that I found the search function on the UA website, if you search Embiid, the ONLY three products that show up are the t-shirts pictured above. From there it’s just general basketball gear.
No where do you see Embiid’s signature shoes.
To recap: Bryce Harper is a former MVP and the Philadelphia Phillies were in the World Series last year. Joel Embiid just won the NBA MVP and is considered one of the most dominant players in the entire NBA. Both have endorsement deals with Under Armour and neither are featured anywhere on the website. Absolutely disgusting.
Shoutout my guy Meech and the City Pigeons Podcast for bringing this to my attention.
Been trying to get on their pod ever since I wrote about the cannon that went missing from Fort Mifflin last month but it’s hard to get these guys attention. Unless they are intentionally ignoring me, which would be UNFORTUNATE.
PS: Did they ever find the cannon?
