Dak Prescott vows to not suck in 2023; promises to keep INT total in single digits

Good news, Cowboys fans. Dak Prescott promises he won’t suck this year, and even guaranteed he’ll keep his interception total under 10!
Fresh off a 15 interception season (17 if you count playoffs), Prescott touched on his INT blunders at a youth football camp earlier in July.
“We are a talking point,” Dak Prescott said. “As you find something to talk about, that’s the first thing to go to.”
He continued by subtly blaming his receivers for some of those INTs, even though he immediately tried to walk it back.
“I know who I am, and you can go back and take away half of those off drops,” Prescott said. “I’m not saying it’s on the receiver, but if you cut that in half then we start talking about those, nobody is talking about it.”

According to NFL.com, only four of Dak’s interceptions were attributed to drops. So, about a quarter of them came because of drops, not quite half. Dak Prescott is clearly not a mathematician.
Taking away those four INTs still leaves us at 11 total solely on Dak. Even so, the Cowboys QB vows he won’t hit double digits again this year.
“I won’t have 10 interceptions this year,” Dak Prescott proclaimed.
As an NFL quarterback in the social media age, you should never put a number on how many TDs, INTs, or championships you’re going to collect in a given season or throughout a career. It just puts a target on your back, and if Prescott does reach double digits in interceptions again, he’s going to get dragged for it.
Maybe he doesn’t care about what people on Twitter have to say. In all honesty, kudos to him if he doesn’t. But the organization he’s employed by will probably have something to say about it, especially if the Cowboys fail to get past the divisional round once again.
