WATCH: Kyle Schwarber goes yard, elevates for incredible catch in 4-3 Phillies win

Kyle Schwarber is officially hot. The Phillies slugger and apparent Gold Glove candidate made plays all over the field tonight, hitting a home run and making potentially the best catch of his career in a 4-3 win over the Brewers.
Kyle Schwarber was in rare form:
I know the people love leadoff dingers, but I had to open with the catch. That has to be the best catch of his career, bar none, and it saved what was still an active perfect game bid from Aaron Nola.
It’s absurd how little I expected Schwarber to leap that high and make the grab. I don’t think you can blame me, though – we’re talking about a guy whose top Google search result for “best catches” is a 10-minute home run compilation.

Speaking of home runs…
God damn, this man thrives in the summer months. There really is nothing quite like a Schwarbomb. You know it’s coming, but it’s like the first time, every time.
That said, this is why we have to cherish that catch while we can. The dingers will come, but we may never see defensive prowess of that magnitude ever again from Kyle Schwarber.
Plays like this make me forget that Kyle Schwarber is a Wawa shill. It’s hard to care about him taking their dirty oil money when magic is happening on the field.
