“Shout out to Josh Allen because he said the ‘milk check.’ We got a guy on ours who is ‘milk check’ – that’s my boy, shout out Reed….This is a different milk check over here. He’s good. He don’t spoil. He makes a lot of plays….Him being one of the top guys in our secondary, he’s doing a great job. Communication, leading the way. Right now, he’s got the most picks in camp. I’m jealous because I’m trying to win. But I don’t really get action like that!”
So yeah, Reed Blankenship is good milk and doesn’t spoil. That’s exactly what I want to hear about Reed, who will enter this season as the Eagles’ starting safety.
Along with Jalen Carter, Blankenship has made training camp headlines over the past week after picking off Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson not once, but THREE TIMES over two joint practice days.
According to social media, fans are now calling him “Ed Reed Blankenship” in reference to Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed, but “The Milkman” should also be in consideration.
Slay’s milk reference came from Josh Allen’s interview with Bussin’ with the Boys podcast where he talked about having an audible for white defensive players at linebacker and in the secondary.
Get me a ticket on “The Milkman” nickname train for Blankenship. He’s the great white hope in NFL secondaries and everyone believes that this could be a breakout season for the Eagles’ safety.
