Injury News: Eagles lose key cornerback for the 2023 season

The Eagles have lost some cornerback depth following their preseason matchup vs. Cleveland.
CB Zech McPhearson was carted off to the locker room in last night’s game after deflecting a pass. McPhearson was unable to put any pressure on his leg and multiple reports have confirmed that he suffered a torn Achilles, ending his 2023 season.

McPhearson transitioned from outside corner to the nickel spot this summer, serving as Avonte Maddox’s primary backup. Additionally, McPhearson was a key contributor on special teams, being named NFC ST Player of the Week for Week 1 last season.
Philadelphia also lost their special teams ace Shaun Bradley to a torn Achilles last week. Here’s to a speedy recovery for both players.
