WATCH: NBC Sports Giants official Twitter account posts bizarre video ahead of Kyle Harrison’s MLB debut tonight against the Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the San Francisco Giants last night 10-4. Tonight, the Giants will send rookie Kyle Harrison to the mound, looking for a much needed win to stay in NL Wild Card contention.
Harrison is the Giants’ No. 1 prospect and the No. 20 overall prospect on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list. He’s the No. 1 left-handed pitching prospect and was selected in the third round of the 2020 MLB Draft.
Harrison has made 20 starts this season for Triple-A Sacramento, recording a 4.66 ERA with 105 strikeouts to 48 walks over 65 2/3 innings. He has a 35.6 percent strikeout rate with a 16.3 percent walk rate this season.
So yes, there is plenty to say about the Giants’ No. 1 prospect making his MLB debut tonight at Citizens Bank Park. That brings us to the video posted by NBC Sports Giants official Twitter account.
Let’s take a listen…
NBC Sports San Francisco Giants Video
Listen, I have no idea what goes on in the Bay Area.
I’m actually of the belief that there should be zero pro sports teams in California. People out there simply don’t care enough about sports for them to be ever taken seriously.
Just ask those two Bay Area morning show radio hosts who know nothing about football and go “click farming” to make Eagles’ fans mad. They are very familiar with all of this.
However, if you are going to at least pretend to know what the hell is happening with sports teams in your city while being a direct affiliate of NBC Sports, then I expect much better “content” or whatever you’d call that video to be released from official media outlet’s social media accounts.

Yes. We say. I guess. Whatever.
At first when I watched this video, I thought it was a complete joke but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s almost like the woman in the video didn’t really know what she was talking about and went off a headline in attempt to make a point about Giants’ pitcher debuts against the Phillies only to realize that Tim Lincecum got destroyed against the Phillies in his first major league start.
My Response
To Recap: Ryan Howard crushed a two-run home run off Lincecum and Shane Victorino also took him yard in his debut. The Phillies won 8-5 on Sunday Night Baseball.
Why anyone would want to relate Lincecum’s debut to Kyle Harrison’s tonight at Citizens Bank Park in the midst of a postseason hunt between two NL Wild Card teams is beyond me but please, go right ahead. Are the Giants already throwing in the towel?
Those weren’t exactly encouraging words from the woman above, right?
It was almost like she was saying “even if the Giants lose tonight in Harrison’s debut, don’t worry because he could still turn into Tim Lincecum?”
I don’t know. I’m very confused.
The Phillies DESTROYED the San Francisco Giants last night. Aaron Nola pitched a solid seven innings, allowing just two-earned runs, while the offense came alive thanks to an inside-the-park home run SPARK in the fifth inning from Bryce Harper.
If the Phillies can repeat last night’s performance at the plate, then Kyle Henderson is in for an even worse debut then Tim Lincecum had against the Phillies.
At The Plate: Phillies vs Giants

Phillies Hunt for Red October
The Phillies improved to 68-57 on the season and with last night’s win, hold a 2.5 game lead over the Cubs in second place as the Giants dropped down to the third and final NL Wild Card spot.

The Giants Are Who We Thought They Were
I have been saying this constantly in every NL Wild Card update at the bottom of each Phillies article over the past few months. The Giants are an unserious baseball team and the proof is in the numbers.
Their run differential is a pathetic +2 while the Phillies and the now second place Chicago Cubs boast +50 an +66 respectively.
The red DIFF means a lot. It’s why we knew the Marlins were frauds. It’s why the D-Backs and Reds are frauds. And it’s definitely why the Giants have no business in the postseason.
Honestly, this is good news for the Phillies.
I would much rather have the Chicago Cubs finish in second place and have to play the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card round while the Phillies finish and first and draw the third and final Wild Card team which could be the Giants, D-Backs, Reds, or Marlins.
From there, we move onto the NLDS and either the Braves or Dodgers, but let’s just focus on distancing ourselves from all of the “pretenders” in the Wild Card and finish the regular season strong and poised to make another deep postseason run.
