Phillies were one of 10 teams in attendance to scout Japanese superstar Yoshinobu Yamamoto latest start for the Orix Buffaloes

Last week, the Philadelphia Phillies sent scouts to Japan to scout right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto in his latest start for the Orix Buffaloes.
Yamamoto dazzled through seven scoreless innings, as 10 MLB teams had scouts in attendance. Yamamoto’s move to the MLB is expected in the near future.
The 24-year old phenom has dominated in Japan and is coming off two consecutive seasons where he won the Eiji Sawamura Award, given out to the best pitcher in Nippon Professional Baseball.
He also won two consecutive Pacific League MVP awards and two consecutive pitching Triple Crowns for having the most wins, strikeouts and lowest ERA in the same season.
