Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey share their thoughts on James Harden in Ramona Shelburne’s latest ESPN article

As the Philadelphia 76ers wrap up yet another embarrassing offseason dealing with James Harden and Daryl Morey’s personal circus show, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey have officially weighed in on the situation unfolding with their team in a lengthly article published on ESPN by Ramona Shelburne.
According to Shelburne, Joel Embiid “has given the franchise assurances he is OK riding out the current drama with Harden.”
Joel Embiid on James Harden
Shocker. (Not Really)
That shouldn’t be surprising news to anyone who’s paying attention.
I know the media and a loud contingent of Philly sports fans (drama queens) believed this mess of an organization would lose Embiid because of their incompetence.
That was never really a possibility and as usual, has now been proven to be complete bullshit.
The same goes when talking about Tyrese Maxey.
Along with Embiid, Maxey has also delivered the same sentiment to the Sixers organization.
Tyrese Maxey: James Harden situation “not our first rodeo”
Along with stating that he’s bought into his future with the Philadelphia 76ers, Maxey has agreed to wait on a contract extension until next summer to give the team an opportunity to remain under the salary cap and improve their roster.
Regardless of what happens this year, the Sixers will have James Harden and Tobias Harris off the books following the 2023-24 season, giving them a much needed relief from the salary cap hell they have dug themselves in over the past 4-5 years.
All this is perfectly fine.
I much rather move forward with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as the two franchise centerpieces and at this point, I’m not even sure why anyone is even entertaining the James Harden situation. Trade him for whatever you can get in return and it’s full steam ahead, just like Charles Barkley said last week.
