Matvei Michkov loaned to HC Sochi of KHL

Finally, our boy is free.
According to Hockey News Hub on X, Matvei Michkov has been loaned by SKA and Roman Rotenberg to HC Sochi of the KHL.
This comes with no surprise as we watched Michkov ride the bench the first two games of the season, play in the third (6 min of ice time), and then again, sit in the final game for SKA this season.
For whatever reason though, Alex Galchenyuk and Mikhail Vorobyev have spots in the lineup despite both having multiple brutal turnovers that led to goals. I guess consequences only follow when your last name is Michkov.
Michkov played with Sochi on loan last season and had 9G-11A-20P in 27 games, so this isn’t unfamiliar territory for him.
Despite being one of the worst teams in the KHL, Michkov still played very well. Now, he’ll go to Sochi and receive top6 minutes, and be on the top PP unit.
This is only good news for the Flyers.
We’ll see how things go, but my god is it nice to know he’s about to get actual playing time without looking over his shoulder constantly.
