Reminder: Never eat something called a ‘Philly Cheesesteak’, even more so when it’s purple and being sold by Orlando City FC

In the latest edition of “things you should never order” a picture of a purple Philly Cheesesteak being sold at Orlando City FC soccer games is making it’s rounds on social media.

That is the last thing you want to lay eyes on after a long weekend of drinking. I get it. Sorry.
I am well aware that the whole Philly Cheesesteak conversation has jumped the shark but this one specifically is pretty ridiculous. Everyone “from here” knows very well that ordering a “Philly Cheesesteak” outside of the area is a major violation.
Not even gatekeeping the delicacy of a cheesesteak. Other cities simply can’t replicate them.
Time and time again we’re seeing complete trash peddle offering something to what they believe resembles a “Philly Cheesesteak” should just take a different path of marketing it to consumers.
A dark, crusty roll that includes whatever that purple stuff is, paired with an overload of banana peppers and mushrooms while having little-to-no visible cheese and barely any steak should never and I mean NEVER be considered something that would resemble a cheesesteak made in the greater Philadelphia area.
So here’s your reminder that anything classified as a “Philly Cheesesteak” just means that it’s made outside of the area and will almost certainly not taste like one made in Philadelphia while having a bunch of additional toppings that really have no business being on a cheesesteak.
Mix in some type of gimmick, which we see in this case as the purple food coloring to reflect the colors of Orlando FC and anyone who ordered this was doomed from the start.
