Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant was down bad on Twitter thinking about the love of his life

Kevin Durant has a special someone on his mind, and he wasn’t afraid to share it with his followers on Twitter. The Suns superstar quote-tweeted one of his own posts from 2010 and showed that, even as time passes, he’s still a hopeless romantic.

Kevin Durant was going through it yesterday, and, honestly, so are we here at TLL:

I’ve been there, KD. Trust me on that. If you’re reading this, I’m sure you have too.

It happens to the best of us, even NBA stars like Kevin Durant. It’s a tale as old as time, and it’s usually best solved with a nice cocktail or two, or, more realistically, three.

Of course, three can turn into many more when you can’t stop thinking about the apple of your eye. Thoughts are a powerful thing, but Long Island Iced Teas are even stronger. And when you’re on the road, things happen fast.

Next thing you know, you wake up at the Crowne Royal Plaza in downtown Kansas City after walking miles in the opposite direction after leaving the bar the night before. Your phone is dead, your feet are bloodied, and you’ve never felt more like a homeless person. Phans of Philly and The Liberty Line hosted an absolute rager of a happy hour at Howl at the Moon KC, and the whole team is still feeling the effects.

The boys were separated in the darkness of the night. Drew woke up wearing a bracelet that was custom-made by a girl named “Chrissy” that also included her number for crying out loud. When I walked into his hotel room around 4:30 AM, he was contemplating life while holding his knee, which has been torn to shreds since the “scooter incident” in Los Angeles on the last Phans of Philly trip. Victor was sleeping in full clothes (belt included), and Cass, who was last seen skipping down the street miles away from the hotel at 3 AM, was, and still is, nowhere to be found.

The last I heard from him, he mentioned someone by the name of Edmundo and said he was at some place called the “Pickle Palace.” I’m not sure where that is, but it sounds like he’s in good hands.

Kevin Durant could never

It’s now 30 minutes til noon, and, to be frank, the group is in complete shambles. We have a hard 12 PM drinking start time at Chickie’s & Petes in KC with Phans of Philly and hundreds of other diehard Eagles fans, and we’re still not even within 24 hours of Eagles-Chiefs on Monday night.

Kevin Durant may not be on the road with us, but he’s here in spirit. The TLL crew plans to pour one out in his honor when we get to Chickie’s. It’s only right.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
