Bills Mafia narrowly avoids enacting the Rocky Statue Curse ahead of Week 12 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Buffalo Bills today at Lincoln Financial Field, and “Bills Mafia” fans have officially arrived in the city of Brotherly Love.

Typically, when opposing fanbases come to Philadelphia, there’s a critical mistake that’s made ahead of whatever sporting event they are in town for and yesterday, Bills Mafia almost fell victim to the curse that has doomed so many fanbases in the past.

Messing with the Rocky Statue is never the way to go and Eagles fans on social media were quick to point out the picture below as a reason to enact “The Rocky Statue Curse” but unfortunately, that wouldn’t apply in this situation.

We have seen this play out countless numbers of times so I understand that the majority of social media looked at this photo and immediately questioned whether or not that it would enact the “Rocky Statue” curse would come into play here, but there needs to be round rules for when that actually happens.

Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes List: Recent Rocky Statue Losses

  • 2015: Giants: L
  • 2017: Vikings: L (NFC Championship Game)
  • 2018: Patriots: L (Super Bowl 52)
  • 2022: Astros L (World Series Game 3)
  • 2023: Giants L
  • 2023: 49ers – L (NFC Championship Game)
  • 2023: Chiefs* – W (Super Bowl in Arizona, False Flag)
  • 2024: Diamondbacks (5 Fans, NLCS Game 1) – L
  • 2024: Dolphins – L
  • 2024: Cowboys – L
  • 2024: Bills – Does Not Apply

Unfortunately, it’s hard to say that this is enough to to put the curse into effect. This is just a simple tourist photo. The Rocky Statue was not touched and there was no jersey or Bills gear on the statue. There’s no talk of “takeovers” or any of the other nonsense opposing fanbases attempt to do while traveling to the city either.

All I see here is a group of Bills fans taking enjoying one of the worst statues in the city of Philadelphia.

I’m willing to give the Buffalo Bills fans a pass on this one. It wasn’t too long ago that we were looking at a Bills and Eagles Super Bowl last season. This year of course, is a different story for Bills Mafia. Josh Allen hasn’t looked very good and the Bills are just 6-5 on the season, scratching and clawing to keep their playoff hopes alive.
