
49ers’ Kyle Shanahan walks back criticism of Eagles security guard Dom DiSandro following altercation with Dre Greenlaw on Sunday
San Francisco 49ers head coach was not happy with the Philadelphia Eagles and their head of security Dom DiSandro after a sideline altercation with his linebacker Dre Greenlaw on Sunday.
Greenlaw and DiSandro were both tossed in the third quarter of Sunday’s blowout 49ers win against the Birds. On the play that led to the incident, Greenlaw was penalized for basically body slamming DeVonta Smith to the ground on the sideline after a catch.

DiSandro, who was standing on the sidelines right where the incident happened, then got into it with Greenlaw, which the 49ers’ linebacker took issue with as referees attempted to separate the two.

Greenlaw then struck DiSandro and was ejected from the game, while Big Dom was also kicked out as Eagles fans rose to their feet giving him a standing ovation.

Yesterday, Shanahan’s tone changed regarding the incident and he told reporters that hoped DiSandro would not be seriously punished for his interaction with Greenlaw, and that he had heard good things about the Eagles’ security chief.

Emotions were definitely running high following Sunday’s game so I understand why Shanahan was initially upset. He was also on record saying he was running on emotion and had not actually seen the play on video.

Looks like Shanahan had a little visit from Dom DiSandro and friends to change his tone. Really makes you think, right? The NFL is already reviewing the incident, and it remains to be seen if Greenlaw or DiSandro will face further punishment.
