Christian McCaffrey Brock Purdy Christmas Gifts

Christian McCaffrey saves 49ers’ Christmas after Brock Purdy “couldn’t afford” golf clubs for teammates…?

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey recently gifted every member of the 49ers offense a custom golf bag, a certificate for fitted golf clubs, and a bottle of Celaya Tequila because his quarterback Brock Purdy apparently couldn’t afford to do so on his $870,000 NFL salary.

“Financially, I wouldn’t be able to cover that right now,” said Purdy with a smile. “Shoutout to him. Everyone loved it. Thank you, Christian.”

Good on Christian McCaffrey but honestly, the fact that Brock Purdy makes $870,000 a year on his current contract and the media trying to act like this is some amazing act of service is ridiculous.

Purdy signed a 4-year deal worth $3,737,008, which included $77,008 as a signing bonus and an average salary of $934,252. On top of that, pretty much every website says his Net Worth is around $5 million.

The tweet above stating that Purdy drives a “rusty Toyota Sequoia” is complete bullshit too.

Brock Purdy is out there doing commercials for Team Toyota and the car company is official partners with the San Francisco 49ers. The company literally featured Purdy in their ‘Tackle Anything’ ad campaign this year.

On top of that, Purdy has an endorsement deal with Alaska Airlines. With the Alaska Airlines deal, any fans from the Bay area wearing a Purdy jersey, who choose the airline will be given special priority boarding.

Plus, according to other websites, Purdy has an endorsement deal with Buffalo Wild Wings and in the past has also worked other brands such as Dreamfield and Yoke Gaming while joining the Yerbaé’s Family of Investors in October of 2023. On top of that he’s also posting all over his Instagram Story about Lucid Motors with pictures of cars that cost no less than $75,000.

Point Being: As the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, I’m pretty confident in saying that Brock Purdy is not driving around a rusty Toyota Sequoia. Pair that with his 4-year contract and endorsement deals and to then act like he can’t afford golf clubs for his teammates is again, completely ridiculous.

Do these social media accounts and media outlets really think that anyone is sympathizing with Brock Purdy and his $870K salary? Why didn’t they factor in the full amount of his contract? Are we just ignoring endorsement deals?

Save the sob story for someone else. This is the biggest load of shit I’ve ever seen. Purdy and the 49ers should be embarrassed that this story left the locker room.

The average salary nationwide in the United States is $59,428. Americans all over the country have been stressing about the holidays and buying gifts for months at this point.

Now we’re supposed to feel bad for Brock Purdy because he couldn’t buy his entire offense brand new golf clubs and bags? The lack of self-awareness is incredible.

Not to mention, the 49ers are completely missing the entire point of the holiday season.

It’s not about the gifts you receive or the presents under the Christmas tree. It’s about the people that are with you around the Christmas tree. To put it as simple as possible, it’s the thought that counts.

Side Note: I do hope that buying your entire offensive golf clubs for Christmas will put some bad juju in the 49ers locker room and every single one of them will have plenty of time to use them after getting beat early in the playoffs. We’ll have to see how that plays out…

Purdy should have hand-written “Thank You” cards for his offensive line, Deebo Samuel, and Cristian McCaffrey for making him look like an MVP-caliber quarterback.

The YAC numbers are crazy out in San Francisco. Samuel (456), Kittle (392), and McCaffrey (369) all rank in the NFC Top 10 for yards after catch. Each player ranks in the Top 20 across the entire NFL.

Anyways, sorry for being such a Scrooge on Christmas Eve Day but I couldn’t let this one go. Cheers everyone. Merry Christmas!
