Lamar Jackson Safety 49ers Curse

WATCH: Lamar Jackson getting tripped by NFL official against San Francisco might have saved the Baltimore Ravens from “49ers Curse” theory going viral on TikTok

An NFL official accidentally tripped Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson during last night’s 33-19 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The Ravens were facing 1st and 10 from their own 20-yard line early in the first quarter last night in San Francisco.

Jackson was left scrambling around in his own end zone after 49ers’ linebacker Fred Warner was unblocked with a clear path to the quarterback. Before he could get rid of the football, Jackson stumbled over the legs of referee Alex Moore, who had fallen into the end zone after backpedaling as the play unfolded.

Jackson was then flagged for intentional grounding and because it happened in the end zone, the ruling was a safety on the play. That gave the 49ers a brief 2-0 lead in the game, mainly because the referee couldn’t stay on his feet.

All things considered, there was a very good chance that Jackson could have avoided the intentional grounding call if he wasn’t tripped up by Moore.

Fans on Twitter weren’t too happy with the mishap, criticizing Moore for getting in the way.

Honestly, I don’t think it was that bad however, Moore laughing after the play certainly was a bad visual for fans watching at home. NFL officials have been getting ripped by players and fans all season and this certainly won’t help their reputation.

At the same time, the referee is in the field of play and Jackson running around in distress the whole way back into his own end zone was pretty stupid to begin with but even then, Lamar should have the opportunity to overcome the situation himself.

What Ravens fans failed to realize, is that the safety might have saved their entire season.

49ers Curse – Safety Prevented Lamar Jackson Injury

The Baltimore Ravens dismantled Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers en route to a 33-19 victory, opening up a few doors for the Philadelphia Eagles to clinch the No. 1 seed and first round bye in the NFL playoffs with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson also avoided disaster and go figure, the official tripping Lamar Jackson in the end zone actually saved their season. A conspiracy theory went viral on TikTok following the game, raising the question of whether the trip will make Jackson immune to what is being considered the “49ers curse.”

Heading into Week 16, the 49ers had lost three games all year.

All three of the teams that beat San Francisco — the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals — lost their starting quarterbacks for the season.

The 49ers scored exactly 17 points in all three losses this season. Had it not been for the safety, there is a chance the 49ers would have scored 17 points in their loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

49ers Curse Goes Viral on TikTok

Deshaun Watson, Kirk Cousins and Joe Burrow all suffered season-ending injuries after their teams lost to the 49ers.

I’m not one to argue against witchcraft and if I were a Ravens fan I would be hoping the “49ers Curse” is specifically based on the losing team scoring 17 points. If that’s the case, then Baltimore should be safe from disaster.
