Pascal Siakam Sixers Trade

NBA Trade Deadline: Multiple teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers linked to Toronto Raptors Pascal Siakam

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Pascal Siakam and Dejounte Murray are two names that are floating around the NBA ahead of February’s trade deadline. The teams interested? The Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and Philadelphia 76ers.

Siegel noted that after moving OG Anunoby, the belief around the league is that the Raptors have become more flexible in regards to trade talks for Siakam. The report itself was somewhat surprising given the fact that Raptors president Masai Ujiri has been known to be one of the most stubborn negotiators in the league.

According to the report, Siakam wasn’t the only player that the Sixers were linked to ahead of the trade deadline.

I can’t be the only one who doesn’t love the idea of Siakam on the Sixers right?

Siakam would obviously replace Tobias Harris, which I’ve been on record countless numbers of times in support of trading before his contract finally expires at the end of the season.

At the same time, I’m not sure Siakam gives you that much of a difference at the 4-spot. He’s a reluctant shooter who prefers to have the ball in his hands, attacking and posting up which on a team with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, I’m not exactly that’s needed right now. Oh, and are we even sure he likes Nick Nurse?

I also don’t love the fact that Siakam once intentionally elbowed Joel Embiid in the face in a playoff game either.

Call me petty but that shit still bothers me, much like everything else that happens come playoff time in Philadelphia.

While it would be refreshing to see a more athletic and often aggressive power forward in the Sixers starting lineup, I’m not sure the risks outweigh the positives here. And honestly, can we stop trying to reunite staff and players all the damn time? Look how well that went with Daryl Morey and all the losers from that Houston Rockets team.

On the bright side, according to Siegel, the Atlanta Hawks appear to be the favorites to land Siakam by the NBA trade deadline so all things considered, the Sixers might be in the clear…for now.
