Eagles News: Sydney Brown suffers torn ACL, update on AJ Brown’s knee injury
Philadelphia’s regular season mercifully came to an end on Sunday, falling to the Giants 27-10.
The bad news doesn’t stop there.
Eagles rookie safety Sydney Brown went down in the first quarter while covering a punt and needed to be helped off the field. Brown was later carted inside as he couldn’t put any weight on his leg.
Following the game, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo confirmed that Brown suffered a torn ACL, with more testing to come tomorrow.

Last year’s No. 66 overall pick was one of the few bright spots for Philadelphia this season, recording 45 tackles, three passes defended, and a pick-six in five starts. The Eagles have been battling secondary injuries all year and will now have to embark on the postseason without Brown.
WR AJ Brown also got hurt in the first quarter, injuring his knee after fumbling the ball on a shallow post-route. Brown remained on the ground, holding his leg as trainers arrived. He eventually walked off under his own power and limped to the locker room.
Luckily for the Eagles, Brown appears to have avoided a severe injury, per Garafolo.
Sirianni asked about #Eagles WR A.J. Brown’s knee, says Brown was the first to greet players coming back into the locker room.

My understanding is it’s not believed to be a serious injury. https://t.co/XI6kwXZAPV
As the #5 seed, Philadelphia will travel to Tampa Bay during Super Wild Card Weekend and face the #4 seed Buccaneers. If the Eagles hope to advance in the playoffs, they’ll need their top receiver to do it.
Eagles vs. Buccaneers will take place on Monday night at 8:00 ET on ESPN and ABC.
