WATCH: Reporter asks Todd Bowles how the Buccaneers are preparing to play in cold weather conditions when they travel to Detroit on Sunday
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers advanced to the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs after beating the Philadelphia Eagles 32-9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Monday Night. With the win, the Buccaneers booked their tickets to travel north and face the Detroit Lions in a much colder climate.
Following the game, a reporter asked Bucs’ head coach Todd Bowles about how the team is preparing to get acclimated to the weather in Detroit ahead of Sunday’s game.
Unfortunately, anyone with half of a brain knows that the Detroit Lions have been playing in a dome for nearly 50 years. First, it was the Pontiac Silverdome before moving to Ford Field in 2002.

“You do know we play indoors, right? [Ford Field] has got a dome…No, nothing planned. We’re indoors and we only have to be outside for 20 seconds getting off the bus, so we’ll be okay.”
Too good. It always amazes me how disconnected the media can be at times. How can anyone possibly make this mistake? Unless the reporter in question was in fact asking how Baker and the boys will deal with walking from the team’s bus into Ford Field, then there’s really no time or place to be this stupid while talking to an NFL head coach.
I’m not calling for the reporter’s credentials but at some point, there’s a level of preparedness that needs to be reached before you can ask questions, right?
This immediately reminded me of Alshon Jeffery’s legendary media day interview ahead of Super Bowl LII when a reporter asked him basically the same question regardless of the fact that the game was being played inside at Minnesota Vikings’ U.S. Bank Stadium.

Shoutout to Todd Bowles for handing the idiotic question in a professional manner. At this point, I’m hoping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers keep rolling and beat Detroit on Sunday, assuming they can deal with the temperature inside Ford Field.
