Chad Johnson really wants to join the Eagles coaching staff
Over the past few years, Chad Johnson (formally Ochocinco) has shown Philadelphia a lot of love, mostly because of the dynamic young wideouts the Eagles have on their roster.
Now that the Eagles are giving their coaching staff a complete makeover, Johnson is looking to turn his passion for the city into a new day job. Although the team has not officially moved on from current WR coach Aaron Moorehead, Ocho is seemingly trying to take his spot.
Since firing off this Tweet over the weekend, has hasn’t stopped Tweeting about Philly. As a matter of fact, he just took a flight to Philly Monday night, and apparently it’s for ‘work.’
Chad Johnson absolutely loves this city

The man just loves Philly, it’s amazing.
I try not to let all the Philly bashing by the national media get to me, but I will admit, seeing someone like Ochocinco praise the city any chance he gets is pretty refreshing. For once, someone has the balls to say, “Honestly, Philly isn’t all that bad.” Can’t help but respect 85 for that.
Do I actually think he’s about to become the Eagles’ next WR coach? No shot. I’d be floored if that happened. But… it would be sick. Could you imagine the sideline shots of Chad Johnson with a headset doing a signature handshake with AJ Brown after scoring a touchdown? It would be electric.
I’m kind of talking myself into it as I’m writing this if I’m being honest. I mean, why not at this point. The Eagles are going to have a completely new staff next year outside of Nick Sirianni and Jeff Stoutland, let Ocho get in the mix. It would be fun, which is something I rarely experienced with the Eagles in 2023.
I don’t know if it would actually work, but the dude was one of the best wide receivers of my generation and is looked up to by every NFL wideout under 30. He also already has a relationship with DeVonta Smith. And I imagine he’s spoken to AJ Brown during his numerous trips to Eagles training camp recently.
Chad Johnson should be the next wide receivers coach for the Eagles. Just do it.
