Eminem and CJ Gardner-Johnson definitely got ahead of themselves in the first half of last night’s NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.
The Detroit Lions got off to a “roaring” start against the 49ers, taking an early 14-0 lead. At halftime, Detroit was in full control of the game, leading San Francisco 24-7. Detroit native Eminem was caught delivering a “double-bird” to 49ers fans in the crowd.

Side Note: This is something that could only be done to 49ers fans. Eminem knew damn well that San Francisco is a soft-ass city and he could flip all these fans off with zero repercussions.
Lions’ cornerback CJ Gardner-Johnson foolishly waived goodbye to 49ers fans, probably thinking he was still playing with the 2022-23 Philadelphia Eagles and the game was out of reach.

The internet, specifically Eagles fans, went crazy watching the 49ers get their asses beat by Detroit and jokes about Brock Purdy flooded timelines. I even posted this picture on The Liberty Line Facebook and immediately regretted it.

Unfortunately, a nightmare third quarter ultimately doomed the Detroit Lions
The 49ers kicked a field goal on the opening possession of the second half to cut their deficit to 24-10. The Lions drove the ball down the field and on 4th and 2, instead of attempting a 45-yard field goal, they went for the first down and failed to convert. Jared Goff was met with pressure and threw a pass to Josh Reynolds, who dropped it and gave the ball back to the 49ers.

That opened up the door for the 49ers, to drive down the field again and score, which included a ridiculous pass from Brock Purdy that bounced off Kindle Vildor’s helmet and allowed Brandon Aiyuk a second chance at catching the ball.

The 49ers scored a few plays later to cut the deficit to 24-17 and the Lions then fumbled on their next offensive play, handing San Francisco the football in Detroit territory.
Just like that, the game was tied and after another field goal and touchdown, San Francisco punched their tickets to Las Vegas to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
