Taylor Swift Chiefs Ravens Broadcast

What if we told you that Taylor Swift was only on the TV broadcast for 44 seconds during the AFC Championship Game?

What if I told you that Taylor Swift only appeared on television for a total of 44 seconds during Sunday’s AFC championship game?

According to Joe Pompliano the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens lasted a total of 3-hours and 9-minutes. Based on that, Taylor Swift was shown 0.39% of the time, receiving basically the same amount of screen time as the typical b-roll of whatever stadium shots an NFL broadcast rolls during a game. In this case, that would be people making, serving, and eating crab cakes.

Other Notable TV Moments:

  • People making, serving, and eating crab cakes: 27 seconds
  • Dolphins, sharks, and jelly fish at the Baltimore Aquarium: 24 seconds
  • Brittany Mahomes (no Taylor): 10 seconds
  • Jim Harbaugh: 5 seconds
  • John Harbaugh’s dad: 4 seconds

Honestly, this is what the internet does to you. People are constantly on their phones and addicted to social media, which is flooded with Taylor Swift content of her supporting Travis Kelce during football games.

At the same time, social media is flooded with people who absolutely hate Taylor Swift. Why? I have no idea. Maybe it’s cool to hate on the pop singer or maybe it’s all just a political mess because she’s considered “liberal” and the “right” hates for that?

I have no idea. I think it’s funny to crack jokes about her dating Travis Kelce for sure but in the end I don’t give a shit. On top of that, the conspiracy theories surrounding her and Travis Kelce are hilarious. To me, it’s all in good fun but I have a feeling other people, as usual, are actually mad about Taylor Swift and her fanbase getting into football.

I think that’s called gatekeeping, right?

Colin Cowherd talked about Taylor Swift the other day…

Bingo. Football fans are plastered with so much useless shit during an NFL broadcast. There are literally more commercials, advertisements, useless in-game interviews, and pointless b-roll featuring the most basic shit from whatever city the game is being held. Point being, Taylor Swift shouldn’t really be the focal point of any type of “hate” because the numbers really don’t support it.

At the end of the day, even with under a minute of television time during an NFL game, Taylor Swift has a massive impact on the NFL and has managed to generate an “equivalent brand value” of $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the league itself over the regular season.

[FOS] Everybody knows Taylor Swift has had a massive impact on the NFL this year, and many might be wondering exactly how to measure it. Now, some of the results are in.

Swift has generated an equivalent brand value of $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL, Apex Marketing Group tells Front Office Sports. That number, calculated Jan. 22, comes from print, digital, radio, TV, highlights, and social media mentioning Swift going back to her first game on Sept. 24, then figuring out the equivalent dollar value for each instance based on reach and impact. Online news and digital content has created the most value, followed by social media, Apex president Eric Smallwood says. For reference, back in mid-October, that figure sat at $166 million, Smallwood says.

That number should obviously increase during a star studded Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
