49ers WR Deebo Samuel takes subtle dig at Eagles ahead of Super Bowl

Deebo Samuel continues to be more concerned about the Philadelphia Eagles than anything else in the NFL, which is crazy, considering his team is playing in the Super Bowl this weekend.

All last offseason, after the Eagles beat the snot out of the 49ers in the NFC Championship game, Deebo Samuel spent the entire offseason crying about that game. Now, after one regular season game in which the Niners beat up the Eagles, Deebo has continuously felt the need to bring it up in different ways.

Deebo Samuel on Eagles-49ers Rivalry

“I consider rivalries close games. We ain’t going to talk about that no more. That’s over with.”

Isn’t this guy just the absolute worst? I hope the Chiefs embarrass the 49ers in the Super Bowl and send this crybaby home without a ring yet again. No one’s denying the player he is, but he ruins it by being a total loser any chance he gets.

This “non-rivalry” all started last February when Samuel called Eagles cornerback James Bradberry “trash” on the I Am Athlete podcast, and he even said last year’s NFC championship game “wouldn’t have been close” if Brock Purdy didn’t suffer an elbow injury. Deebo even made fun of Bradberry after he drew that game-deciding holding penalty in their Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.

I’ll admit, Deebo is right about one thing: Bradberry being trash. But as far as Purdy being healthy in that championship game, he’s full of crap.

Nothing was stopping that Eagles team from getting to the Super Bowl. More importantly, they were not going to lose a home game that guaranteed them a trip to the Super Bowl if they won. From top to bottom, they were the best team in the NFL last year, and a healthy Brock Purdy wouldn’t have changed a damn thing.
