WATCH: Stephen A. Smith knew Shannon Sharpe was finished at FS1 before he did

ESPN personality and unhinged podcast host Stephen A. Smith genuinely might be the Nostradamus of sports television. I know that’s quite an opening sentence to read, but it became clear when Smith went on Cam Newton’s podcast 4th and 1 and shared the moment he knew for a fact Shannon Sharpe was done on Undisputed and FS1 after two blowups with Skip Bayless.

Stephen A. Smith knew Shannon Sharpe was out before anyone else, even him:

That was a pure instinct play from Stephen A., and, of course, he turned out to be right. Some initially tried to classify this clip as yet another one of his outlandish tales (of which he has many), but Shannon corroborated his account with a tweet that simply read, “True Story.”

After years and years of dealing with Skips’ nonsense, he saw the writing on the wall and made the smart decision to reach out to Shannon and let him know what was coming. Of course, the two have now teamed up on ESPN while Undisputed has essentially faded into obscurity, as they tried to replace one powerhouse co-host with a panel of three great players turned decent broadcasters.

From a business perspective, it wasn’t smart of Skip to throw a shot at Sharpe to start a beef and essentially run him out of town when he was man enough to push back. If you don’t recall, Skip needlessly insulted him while sucking off Tom Brady and his accolades for the umpteenth time.

Congratulations, Skip. You played yourself.
