Eagles News: Haason Reddick did not request a trade, prefers to get deal done in Philly
According to Haason Reddick himself, he did not request a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, despite the initial reports from over the weekend.
On Super Bowl Sunday, multiple pundits reported that Reddick was granted permission to seek a trade. While that part may be true, some interpreted it as Reddick formally asking the Eagles to be traded. On Tuesday, the Eagles pass rusher took to Twitter to clear up the speculation.

Reddick first spoke to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, stating, “I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded. This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”
Chances are, the initial reports regarding Reddick got blown a little out of proportion. The team giving him permission to seek a trade is common practice when both sides are at an impasse on contract talks.
If I had to guess, I’d predict that Reddick will test the trade market, only a select few teams will agree to pay the salary he’s looking for ($25M annually), but those teams won’t be willing to give up the draft capital the Eagles are looking for in return. Therefore, he’ll end up back in Philly.
