Sources: Eagles willing to give big-money extension to Haason Reddick
The Eagles granted star pass-rusher Haason Reddick permission to seek a trade two weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean they’re eager to part ways.
Reddick, who turns 30 years old in September, signed a three-year, $45M deal with Philadelphia in 2022 and quickly outplayed that contract.
Haason Reddick since joining the Eagles
- 27.0 sacks
- 49 QB hits
- 24 tackles for loss
- Five forced fumbles
Reddick has posted double-digit sack totals in each of the last four seasons and hasn’t missed a game during his Eagles’ tenure. In the meantime, players with similar production have been paid handsomely.
On his current deal, Reddick is 17th in the NFL in average annual value. He hopes to find himself in the top-10 this offseason.

Reddick’s camp is reportedly seeking an extension that would pay him $25M annually. The Eagles have allowed the former All-Pro to gauge his market and see if any team will meet his asking price.
An important factor to consider: Reddick never requested a trade and would preferably like to remain in Philadelphia.
“Never asked for a trade,” Reddick posted on Twitter. “However, I do understand it’s a business. Preparing for whatever is next!”
“This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”
The Eagles have mutual interest in retaining Reddick’s services and are willing to offer a big-money extension that would pay him upwards of $22M/year, a source confirmed to The Liberty Line.
If the two parties can’t find a middle ground — or if a team is prepared to pay more — trade discussions would then take place.
PHLY’s Zach Berman reports that the Eagles will only move Reddick in a deal that “makes sense” — both with the compensation in return and if their cap objectives cannot be achieved with a new deal.
The NFL announced on Friday that the salary cap will be $255.4 million per team in 2024, a historic $30M jump from last season. The extra cap space could provide parameters for a new deal and keep Reddick in Philadelphia.
