Report: Eagles release 2x All-Pro safety, free up $13M in cap space
The Eagles have begun their offseason roster cuts ahead of free agency.
First reported by Adam Schefter, Philadelphia has cut former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard.

By releasing Byard, the Eagles have cleared roughly $13M in cap space for the 2024 season.
Byard started ten games for Philadelphia after being acquired before the trade deadline, recording 75 tackles, three passes defended, and an interception.
The release was expected, considering Byard’s high price tag and subpar level of play during Philly’s end-of-season collapse. With Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown as the Eagles’ lone safeties, GM Roseman will need to address the position through free agency or the upcoming NFL Draft.
Philly gets it back. @KevinByard’s 1st INT with the @Eagles!
