He still has some regular-season games left this year and playoffs. London currently sits #1 in the Mid-West division with a 42-13-4 record.
Per EliteProspects 2023 Drade Guide, this is what they had to say about Barkey’s game:
“Barkey understands how to make plays as a passer. He attracts defenders to create space for teammates, constantly uses them to progress the attack, and layers feints in his stickhandling. His quick give-and-goes only add more pace to his play. And he also knows where and how to position himself to get the puck back in dangerous spots.”
He plays a very “pesty and hard” game, considering his size. He has the vision and hands to create plays out of thin air. He’s not the best skater in terms of acceleration, but he’s shifty and has very good edges that he uses to lose defenders in the corners and along walls.
He’ll fit it right with the Flyers, who lead the NHL in shorthanded goals (14) with his league-leading (7) shorthanded goals in the OHL. Fellow teammate, and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, Easton Cowan, also had 7 shorties.
