Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors treated Jaylen Brown like he was Ben Simmons last night en route to a 140-88 loss to the Boston Celtics
The Celtics put up a history first half against Golden State Warriors last night en route to a dominating 140-88 victory over a team that beat them in the NBA Finals just two seasons ago.
After Steph Curry tied the game at 21-21 midway through the first quarter, the Celtics caught fire – going on a 61-17 run to bury the Warriors.
Boston was guided by Jalen Brown who drained three consecutive 3-pointers, sparking a 14-0 run in the first quarter. Brown scored 19 points in the first while the Celtics extended the run to 23-1 to finish the first quarter with a 44-22 lead as Boston connected on 10 3-point attempts.

At the half, Tatum already scored 22 points, and Jaylen Brown led all scorers with 25. The duo alone outscored the Warriors and Boston entered the locker room with an 82-38 lead. The 44-point advantage marked the largest halftime lead for the Celtics franchise history.
It was so bad, that Steve Kerr didn’t even play Curry or Klay Thompson in the third quarter. In fact, neither of them took the court after halftime. The Celtics, meanwhile, extended their dominance and their lead to 51 points in the third quarter.
For Boston, at the 7:16 mark in the third quarter, they pulled all of their starters and from there, bench players from both teams finished out the game.
Wild Decision from Steve Kerr to let Jaylen Brown take 3’s like he was Ben Simmons
The craziest part of last night’s game was Steve Kerr’s game plan to pretty much allow Jaylen Brown to shoot three pointers from where ever he wanted on the court.
Since the All-Star Break, Brown has shot 42.8% from three point range so having a game plan that let him fire away from beyond the arc like he was Ben Simmons was the worst strategy imaginable.
Brown shot 5-of-10 from three point range while finishing the night 11-of-19 from the floor to lead all scorers with 29 points. Tatum added 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc and 9-of-13 from the floor for 27 points.
The Celtics as a team shot 51 percent (25-49) from three point range and cruised to their 11th straight victory.
For 76ers fans, this was almost identical to how the Celtics treated (and ruined) Ben Simmons. How could anyone forget the “Shoot a 3 you coward” days of Post-Process Era basketball?
