Eagles fans officially ‘jump the shark’ showing up to NovaCare Complex to say goodbye to Jason Kelce
Jason Kelce officially announced his retirement from the NFL yesterday at the NovaCare Complex. Outside the gates, Eagles fans also showed up to show their support for the Eagles’ legend.
To be clear: Eagles fans, I’m certainly not gatekeeping football fandom in the city of Philadelphia. I’m also not telling you how to deal with your emotions towards players or teams.
However, I would suggest that we stop showing up outside the NovaCare Complex.
Trust me, I understand the sentiment. Everyone loves Jason Kelce. He’s an absolute legend and deserves all the praise from the city of Philadelphia and Eagles fans. We do need to make sure our “support” ideas are executed better.

Check out the kid in church clothes in attendance to say goodbye to Kelce.
A clear indication that the Eagles’ Hall of Fame center is considered a GOD in the city of Philadelphia.
Tap the keg, bud! No shot you’ll get a job at the Ocean Drive with this type of execution.
This guy showed up with an untapped keg? At the very least, have that beauty flowing and ready to hand Kelce along with all the other people who showed up outside Red Solo Cups filled with an ice cold Miller Lites.
Kelce himself could snagged one directly through his truck window – if he wasn’t driving himself to his own damn retirement press conference.
Side Note: Jason Kelce driving himself to his retirement presser is probably the coolest thing ever. It’s also probably why he didn’t stop for a beer. Drink responsibly.
If you have kids, then I would have to assume as a parent, they were the ones you dragged you outside of the NovaCare Complex in the middle of the day on a Monday in early March.
If you don’t have kids, it’s time to go home.
At the very least, we didn’t see those podcast weirdos that showed up during the Birds’ season, masking a blatant “content” to “show their support” reminiscent of the ovation weirdos for career .300 hitter Trea Turner.
Hell, last week I even saw someone attempting to rally 76ers fans to give Tobias Harris a standing ovation. We have clearly “jumped the shark” on showing support for athletes in the city of Philadelphia.
Just listen to Jason Kelce’s presser yesterday, he perfectly described the Blue Print for gaining respect in this city. It’s pretty simple. Every other active player in Philadelphia, regardless of the team should follow suit.
