Jason Kelce jokingly questions retirement decision after Philadelphia Eagles sign Saquon Barkley
Now that Jason Kelce’s playing career has officially ended, I’m sure the majority of Eagles fans will be tuned into the New Heights Podcast to hear his opinions and reactions to everything football-related in the city of Philadelphia.
With that said, the Eagles shocked the entire NFL world with the news that they signed Saquon Barkley in free agency.
On the most recent episode of the New Heights Podcast, as predicted, Jason Kelce didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on the new-look Philadelphia Eagles offense.

“We talked about last week, this is what I’m regretting: I knew when I retired that I was going to miss just an outstanding season for the Philadelphia Eagles, and it sucks. It does. I want to be a part of this so bad. I wish I could.
“But it doesn’t suck in the way that I get to still go ‘Hey, I’m a Philadelphian! I get to watch it and celebrate it just like everybody else, so I’m excited for that because it’s gonna be damn good.”
Obviously, social media had a lot of fun with this news yesterday, suggesting that maybe Kelce would reconsider his retirement and return for one more season with the Eagles.
While that would be amazing, I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say he’s made up his mind and you can clearly tell by his tone on this podcast. Kelce has given Philadelphia everything he’s got in regard to his football playing days, but that doesn’t mean he’s gone. He will always be around in some capacity – and hopefully, it’s an official position within the Eagles organization.
Apparently, Kelce, who is a week into retirement, said on the podcast that things haven’t really changed much for him so far. He added that he’s still going down to the NovaCare Complex for workouts.
You have to love the guy; I just wonder how he will feel once OTA’s and training camp come back around.
