NFL Draft: Eagles ‘really like’ Texas WR Xavier Worthy
I don’t think anyone would point to wide receiver as a need for the Philadelphia Eagles entering this year’s NFL Draft. But as we know, Howie Roseman loves his offensive weapons, and rumor has it, the team may have their eyes on one wideout in particular.
Texas Longhorns receiver Xavier Worthy has gotten a lot of buzz since the scouting combine, where he ran the fastest 40-yard dash time ever recorded at 4.21 seconds. According to The Liberty Line’s Jake Rabadi, the Eagles really like him.

Obviously, just because the Eagles like a player doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily target him with one of their top-three picks. Philly ‘likes’ a lot of players every year. But there’s reason to believe they could take a wideout pretty high, based on a handful of their top-30 visits.
As it stands, Worthy is currently projected as a second-round pick by most outlets. Which is probably where the Eagles would look to add a WR. He’s far from a perfect prospect, suffering from concentration drops frequently and having the small frame of 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. He’s not going to come in and immediately be a WR1 type of player. Nevertheless, as a complimentary piece in this Eagles offense, he should thrive.
Philly loves having a speedster in the slot; it’s why it took them forever to move off Quez Watkins. Worthy working the slot with DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown on the outside is a recipe for disaster for any opposing defense.
