JT Realmuto wants to win the NL East, weak-minded Braves fans want Atlanta to use it as bulletin board material
JT Realmuto joined 94.1 WIP Sports Talk Radio from Clearwater, Florida yesterday to speak on the upcoming 2024 MLB season.
In the interview, Realmuto made it known that he’s sick and tired of the Atlanta Braves winning the NL East every year which in my opinion, that’s a pretty general statement to make but great to hear from The Best Catcher in Baseball.
JT Realmuto: I’m Tired of the Atlanta Braves Winning Our Division
The Atlanta Braves have won the NL East dating back to the 2018 season. The Phillies haven’t won the division since they rattled 5-straight NL East titles from 2007-2011.
From there, the Nationals took home the title in 2012, followed by the Braves in 2013, Nationals again in 2013, the Mets in 2015, and then the Nations for two straight seasons in 2016 and 2017 before the Braves took home six straight dating back to the 2018 season.
Obviously, JT Realmuto and the rest of the Phillies would like to win the NL East and dethrone the regular season champions.

Unfortunately, Braves fans are completely delusional and consider Realmuto’s comments some type of “bold statement” that will give Atlanta the perfect “bulletin board material” to aid their quest in knocking the Phillies out of the in the postseason.
I highly doubt that.
The dying sports website Fansided and their Braves affiliate wrote an article saying that Realmuto’s comments gave Atlanta “Bulletin Board Material of the Century” after saying that he wants the Phillies to win the NL East.
So many things wrong with that headline. First the blatant Barstool wording “…of the century” from the author just reeks of desperation. Portnoy isn’t reading Fansided bud, maybe just relax a bit?
Whatever – the main point is that here in Philadelphia, we can state that the Atlanta Braves are a dumpster fire every October and have lost to the Phillies the past two seasons in the NLDS after running away with the NL East regular season title.
It’s like Atlanta Braves “fans” forgot the last time they tried to use “bulletin board material” to their advantage last October.
Bryce Harper on Arcia Death Stares in Game 3: “Yeah, I stared right at him…” >>
There’s no such thing as “extra motivation” during Red October when Bryce Harper is owning your entire organization and making your weak-minded players crumble mentally and physically after going yard and delivering death stares as he rounds the bases.
Harp literally owns the Atlanta Braves and I would suggest they fall in-line and keep their mouths shut when talking about the Phillies until they prove otherwise.
Just yesterday, Braves’ skipper Brian Snitker was on Atlanta Sports Talk radio crying about Phillies fans and stating that he will never allow his family to travel to Citizens Bank Park because of the “awful treatment” they received last season.
Point being – any way you’d like to cut it, the Atlanta Braves are mental midgets and have proven to be unable to perform under the bright lights in the postseason.
JT Realmuto, after being one of the key pieces in embarrassing the Atlanta Braves the past two postseasons, saying he wants to win the NL East isn’t even that bold of a statement. The Phillies own the Braves when it matters most and primarily due to slow starts, they haven’t managed to remain even close to Atlanta in the regular season standings.
Personally, I don’t think that’s a bad thing. We have seen teams like the Braves and Dodgers lose in tragic fashion in the NLDS round of the playoffs after having a week off and running away with their respective division titles while teams like the Phillies keep the energy and momentum moving into October, advancing further than the division champions the for the last two seasons.
That seems like the better route to take in order to make it to the Fall Classic, no?
