WATCH: Cubs light up Wrigley Field, Chicago skyline with epic display of pyrotechnics during MLB Opening Day introductions

The Chicago Cubs celebrated MLB Opening Day at the historic Wrigley Field over the weekend and when announcing their roster for the 2024 season, they showed off some spectacular pyrotechnics. 

The idea was simple. The Cubs wanted their players to take the field for introductions surrounded by flames of glory.

They had two rows of pyrotechnics lined up as they took the field from the dugout, setting Wrigley Field ablaze with an electrifying display of pyrotechnic mastery that left spectators at Wrigley in awe and viewers of the now-viral video on social media falling out of their seats.

Absolutely electric.

This is the type of shit that gets everyone hyped for Major League Baseball. 

From the moment the first flame erupted into the Chicago skyline to the grand finale that illuminated the entire venue in a breathtaking crescendo of light and sound, every moment of the Cubs’ pregame introductions was meticulously choreographed to perfection.

The synchronization of the fireworks with the accompanying music was flawless, adding an extra layer of excitement and emotion to the experience.

Okay no. Obviously I’m kidding.

This was probably the most embarrassing display of fire in professional sports history. I can’t believe this got the green light from the Chicago Cubs organization and clearly – it impacted the level of play on the field. 

The Cubs lost 2-of-3 to the reigning World Series Champion Texas Rangers and while it’s definitely still early in the 2024 season, they are currently in last place in the NL Central, locked up with the St. Louis Cardinals.
