NC State student writes incredible email to professor requesting to reschedule exam after Elite 8 victory for the Wolfpack, works to perfection

A college student at NC State emailed his professor requesting to have an exam re-scheduled after the Wolfpack defeated the Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA March Madness Elite Eight to advance to the Final 4.

The request was simple. Students are trying to enjoy a Final 4 run and have been celebrating too much, so they were hoping to bump the exam to a later date.

NC State Student emails professor to reschedule exam following Final 4 run

James Fernandez:

Yo dr Bryant,

I’m lit af rn and I hope you are too Bc a final four appearance is a lot to celebrate. How about we move this test to Tuesday or wednesday???

Love,

James Fernandez

The “love” killed me. Incredible work from young James here.

Professor Matthew Bryant deserves from credit here too. He responded in a timely manner letting James know it was possibly his favorite email of the year and that he was totally convinced the exam should be rescheduled.

Living up to his word, Bryant then send the following email out to the class, letting them know he would be moving their exam so students could enjoy the epic March Madness run without worrying about class.

Honestly, this is exactly how all colleges and universities should function. There’s no way you should have to pay an insane amount of money in tuition fees and then get shafted because the school that you’re from advances to the Final 4 of March Madness and you’re enjoying the ride while also having to worry about a test.

Professors and teachers basically should be working for their students. They pay tuition, which ultimately pays the salaries of everyone working at said college or university, right?

Shoutout to James Fernandez for sending the email. Would I have used different wording? Maybe, but it worked regardless. Casual tone, direct to the point, appealed to not only Professor Bryant but the university as a whole.

Not sure what Mechanical and Aerospace entails but I will be more than comfortable riding in any airplane that James Fernandez worked on, I’ll tell you that much.
