Just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any more crazy, the 37-page criminal complaint against Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter Ippei Mizuhara has been released
Earlier this week in a report that didn’t surprise a soul on earth, federal authorities have came to an agreement that Shohei Ohtani had ZERO CLUE about his good friend and interpreter Ippei Mizuhara stealing $4.5 MILLION DOLLARS from him to pay off illegal gambling debts.
Now, just when you you thought it wouldn’t be any more insane, the 37-page criminal complaint filed against Mizuhara, which is absolutely insane.
The 37-page federal criminal complaint filed Thursday against him was absolutely insane. It included text messages between Mizuhara and bookmakers, where he referenced getting “bumps” – indicating more lines of credit when he was losing millions of dollars.
Ippei Mizuhara’s Very Bad Three Day Stretch Gambling
“I got my ass kicked again lol … Any chance I can get one last bump? This will be my last one for a while if I lose it,”
The bookmaker agreed to bump Mizuhara as long as he was getting a guaranteed minimum of $500K in weekly payments until he was out of the hole.
The first text above was on June 22nd and on June 23rd, literally a day later, he sent the following text:
“I’m the worst lol … I can’t catch a break. … Can I get one last bump? I swear this is gonna be my last until I get the balance down significantly … I promise this will be the last bump for a while,”
The bookmaker then agreed to the second “last bump” but like clockwork, the very next day on June 24th, Mizuhara was back again following another massive loss. This time, he admitted to having a problem while basically begging for another bump, which the bookmaker honored yet again.
Mizuhara’s text exchanges with his bookmaker in the original complaint can be found here.
I mean seriously – all of this is crazy. There’s no way a bookmaker is just fronting Mizuhara all this type of money and then continuing to “bump” him day after day unless he knows damn well where the money is coming from with zero issues on getting it back whenever needed.
That brings me back to my initial article, where I was very clear that Mizuhara is nothing but the world’s greatest fall guy keeping Shohei Ohtani out of trouble from the feds, the Dodgers, and Major League Baseball.
Ippei Mizuhara’s account placed 19,000 + wagers between Dec. 2021-Jan. 2024
- Average wager: About $12,800
- Largest wager: About $160,000
- Smallest wager: About $10
- Total losing bets: $182.9 million
- Net losses: $40.7 million
In case you missed it, it was released earlier in the week that federal authorities came to an agreement that Shohei Ohtani had ZERO CLUE about his good friend and interpreter Ippei Mizuhara stealing $4.5 MILLION DOLLARS from him to pay off illegal gambling debts.
Honestly, there was no shot in hell that Major League Baseball was going to “Pete Rose” the biggest superstar employee, Shoehei Ohtani so excuse me if I find any investigation done by the federal government, related to Ohtani or in general, to be complete bullshit.
The feds claim Mizuhara was able to get $4.5 million from Ohtani because he changed the settings on Shohei’s bank accounts to kill any alerts or notifications – which has to be funniest load of shit I have ever read in my life.
To Be Clear: No Chance in Hell Shohei Ohtani is a ‘victim’ in this case.
I guarantee that Rob Manfred and the Los Angeles Dodgers let out a collective sigh of relief that they were able to convince (and pay off) federal employees so that they would leave the premiere MLB Cash Cow alone.
As for Ippei Mizuhara, I hope this was all worth it. You’ll go down in history as the biggest fall guy the world has ever seen. Cheers to you, sir.
