WATCH: Kevin Harlan’s hilarious call of chicken wing being tossed during 4th quarter of Pelicans-Kings game
Here’s yet another example of why Kevin Harlan is so beloved by sports fans all across the country.
Thursday’s New Orleans vs. Sacramento Kings matchup featured a unique opportunity for veteran announcer Kevin Harlan to react on the broadcast.
While the Pelicans were holding a 134-123 lead over the Kings with less than a minute remaining in the game, a Kings fan threw a chicken wing right along halfcourt.

“Somebody’s thrown something on the floor … It’s a chicken wing! Why would someone throw something that good out on the floor? It’s crispy, it’s warm. … I’m so hungry.
“What’s that guy [doing]? I hope he eats it.”
He’s widely regarded as one of the NBA’s best announcers. He always finds a way to capture moments and suck the audience into it. This was a rare case, and Harlan has had a history of calling in-game altercations.
What’s quite clear here is that poor Harlan was starving, and I hope someone in the arena brought him a tray of fresh chicken wings after the game. I mean, Reggie Miller even pointed out that his stomach was growling.
You have to be another hungry to want to eat a chicken wing that gets thrown onto a dirty basketball court.
