Joel Embiid starts Game 2 against New York Knicks WITHOUT the Rec Specs he was wearing during pregame warmups
Joel Embiid was at shoot around today ahead of Game 2 against the New York Knicks wearing sunglasses on the bench.
Side Note: Embiid should really be wearing socks if he’s sitting at Madison Square Garden – New York is a disgusting city.
Why is Embiid wearing Rec Specs? Honestly, I have no idea. It’s not like the Sixers would give us anything to work with. They are historically bad at keeping anyone updated on what’s happening with any type of injuries that players suffer.
I think it might have something to do with the fact that after Embiid went down in Game 1, he laid on the court blinking like he was an alien.
Again, knowing the Sixers and Embiid’s history with injuries come playoff time, really anything is on the table. Maybe there’s a chance he’s blind now?
Following Game 1 loss, Embiid was limping out of Madison Square Garden while wearing glasses. He didn’t make himself available to speak with the media.
The Sixers are currently leading the Knicks 36-27 midway through the second quarter. Embiid scored 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, two assists, and block in the first.
After thinking we were going to see the Rec Specs on the court tonight, Embiid has taken the court looking relatively normal.
