John Kruk tells unreal story about game against prison team in Mexico during Phillies vs Padres
We all know John Kruk is one of the best color analysts in the business, but he added another legendary moment to his collection while the Phillies took on the Padres Saturday night. Krukker took a moment to share a story about a spring game against a prison baseball team down in Mexico, and it may be the wildest tale he’s told in the booth in his illustrious career.
John Kruk cemented himself as the best storyteller in baseball with this one:
Name a better story teller than John Kruk

Jesus Christ, that is absolutely insane. It’s like a scene out of The Longest Yard.
Unfortunately, with the game in its current state, stories like this one are a thing of the past. All things considered, it’s probably for the best, but it does fill me with nostalgia for a time I never even knew.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the past. I’m sure this isn’t even the craziest story John Kruk has in the chamber. He’s just smart about sprinkling them in from time to time so they always hit home. That’s what makes him the best in the biz.
Like, come on, this sequence alone makes it the best Phillies broadcast moment of the season, and potentially of all time.
Kruk: “He found his girlfriend cheating, he burned up her car with her and her boyfriend in it.”
McCarthy: “There’s a line drive into left field by Turner.”
Feel free to share any others you think stack up, I’m all ears.
