WATCH: Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell speaks on team’s 2023 collapse and what caused it

The world may never know what really happened with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. Going from 10-1 to 11-6 and getting dog walked in the first round of the postseason was tough for everyone to swallow.

During an episode of Javien Elliott’s Youtube series, “Javien University,” Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell spoke on the downfall of his team last season. Long story short, there was a communication problem among the players and staff last season.

“I think it was a connection piece. Teams like KC are well-connected, upstairs and downstairs. Front office and locker room. When you have a connection, everything just clicks. But when you got guys that aren’t talking to each other, you never know what’s going on.”

As fans, we just have to hope the bad eggs are not there anymore. From the outside looking in, it never seemed like there was an issue among the players — it always looked like it was the players vs. the coaches.

Luckily, the team will have two new coordinators next season, and I think we can all agree that the ’23 coordinators were, more than likely, the biggest issue with the Eagles.
