WATCH: Home plate umpire takes 84mph pitch to the nuts during Reds vs Diamondbacks

The Reds were hosting the Diamondbacks tonight in a hotly contested matchup when one of the most brutal scenes of the MLB season took place.

Home plate umpire Adam Hamari took a Jordan Montgomery wild pitch directly to the stones:

Every man watching this video just cringed, sharply inhaled, and likely went “Oof.” I don’t feel entirely right even writing this blog. But, your boy’s gotta eat, so I’m sorry, Adam.

Honestly, the slow-mo from the broadcast was pretty messed up. We all know what happened here. The home plate umpire didn’t drop like a sack of potatoes because it caught him in the inner thigh, that’s for damn sure.

Just do me a favor here. Even if you laughed, please keep this man in your prayers. I know we all hate umpires, but they’re human just like us.

Except for Angel Hernandez. He’s the devil.
