NFL Rumors: Justin Fields refused to take advice from Nick Foles during their time in Chicago

Former Eagles QB Nick Foles is viewed by many as a legend of sorts, especially by those in Philadelphia.

Having spent eleven years in the NFL, Foles saw his fair share of success as a starting QB, most notably leading the Eagles to their only Super Bowl victory in 2017.

One would assume that any young, up-and-coming quarterback would love the chance to study under Foles. Apparently not Justin Fields.

In a recent piece by Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com, Chicago’s QB room of Justin Fields, Andy Dalton, and Nick Foles in 2021 was described as “toxic as hell” as the three allegedly did not get along.

“There were several arguments amongst the QBs. Once, per one source, Foles was trying to teach something to Fields in the QB room and — upon turning toward the rookie — Foles realized Fields wasn’t even paying attention. His head was down.

At that point, Foles was done trying to play mentor. The two could not stand each other.”

I’m not sure what makes Justin Fields so special, but you don’t disrespect Nick Foles.

Fields’ demeanor evidently continued to rub Chicago the wrong way, as they traded the 25-year-old to Pittsburgh for a 2025 sixth-round pick and subsequently drafted Caleb Williams.

Fields will now have a chance to restart his career with the Steelers in a room seemingly led by Russell Wilson.

Foles played his final season with the Colts and will undoubtedly retire as an Eagle one day.
