Watch: Caitlin Clark gets ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons treatment as she’s done nothing but amazing things for the WNBA

From putting up record-setting viewership numbers and WNBA games being moved to larger venues due to the ticket demand of Caitlin Clark, there’s no denying the positive impact she’s having on the WNBA and women’s basketball as a whole.

But, for some reason, a strange section of the internet is constantly rooting for Caitlin Clark to fail. On top of that, you’ve had comments from Dianna Taurasi, which she claimed were taken out of context, and I think she was fabricating because you can tell there’s at least some level of jealousy involved.

“Reality is coming. There’s levels to this thing and that’s just life. We all went through it. You see it on the NBA side, and you’re going to see it on this side where you look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you’re going to come with some grown women who have been playing professional basketball for a long time. – Dianna Taurasi

It doesn’t take a genius to know that the WNBA game is much more physically challenging than the NCAA. Sure, she explained herself better after all the heat she got for those comments, but still, you have nothing nice to say at all?

This is what comes with being great. But not just great; we might be witnessing the “Jordan” of women’s basketball. And if that offends you or upsets you, you’re part of the problem. Sure, Caitlin Clark has a long way to go, but you’d be kidding yourself if you didn’t acknowledge all the change she’s helped pave the way for in women’s basketball.

Everyone wants to see her play; they are traveling from all across the country to watch an Indiana Fever team that went 13-27 last season. The WNBA schedule makers pinned the Fever against the top teams in the league to start the season for obvious reasons. This is the beginning, so just be thankful you’re witnessing it.

There’s no need for all this negativity and ceiling setting on Caitlin Clark, a fantastic basketball player and, more importantly, a great human being.
