WATCH: Anthony Edwards brings back classic NBA trash-talking as he comes at Jokic, Murray, and Nuggets fans in Game 7
One of the biggest storylines of this year’s NBA playoffs has been the emergence of this Minnesota Timberwolves team and, most notably, 22-year-old star Anthony Edwards. So much so, that fans, media members, and even players have found themselves viewing ‘Ant’ as the new face of the NBA.
His play style and on-court demeanor resemble Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in many ways. That statement has become quite controversial in the NBA world, but let me simplify this for you. I’m not saying Anthony Edwards is the next Jordan or Kobe; I’m saying he has similar attributes. Come on, people, we always make comparisons in sports.
Honestly, after the Wolves just eliminated the reigning, defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in Game 7, it’s clear that Edwards is making his mark. His performance is inspiring, and we are only getting closer to him claiming his throne as the new face of the NBA. So, you’re just going to have to accept all the comparisons that come his way to some of the all-time greats.
What makes Anthony Edwards such a joy to watch is his intensity and trash-talking. From going head-to-head with Kevin Durant in round 1 of the playoffs to challenging Jamal Murray in this series, his passion is undeniable. As you can imagine, the ‘Ant-man’ was in prime form when the Wolves sent the Nuggest home last night. We can’t help but appreciate his game.

How can you not love this guy? After spending most of the regular season wondering why the NBA felt so stale and boring, I can’t believe the “180” I’ve done during these playoffs. I owe a large majority of the credit to Anthony Edwards.
This next series in the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves will be refreshing for the basketball world. With the Nuggets and Knicks being eliminated, we can all agree that this was the best possible outcome.
