The Eagles have signed all of their draft picks but first-round CB Quinyon Mitchell, so we’ll update this number once his rookie contract is finalized.
GM Howie Roseman is widely known for structuring contracts with high salary cap hits toward the end of the deal and low cap numbers at the start, which is why he’s able to pay so many players.
Void years also play a factor, allowing the Eagles to spread out cap space well after the deal ends. Owner Jeffrey Lurie also deserves credit, as he writes the hefty checks for signing bonuses that come out right away.
Not every owner is willing to foot the bill, and that gives the Eagles an advantage every year.
Roseman is never satisfied with his roster — don’t be surprised if we see another move from him before Week 1. Calais Campbell, perhaps?
